now, on to the important issues: WHAT YOU SAID. i don't know if you read her reply to my comment but it was at that point where i just said - as you did - um, no. whenever someone invokes the "darcy didn't love her when he proposed" fallacy, i just have to back away slowly. because, of course, there was so much reason to propose to her if he didn't love her. what with her fortune and her excellent connections and the fact that she was extraordinarily beautiful. oh, wait, hmm.

I'm so glad you agree. I really wish people wouldn't use Austen when they're not clear what they're talking about. *sigh*
And the 'he didn't really love her' is, as you say, astoundingly stupid. Aside of the fact that Darcy himself says that his feelings haven't changed since the first proposal. How dare he violate the standards of rom-com? Really!
