I managed to get my favourite game of all time (Might and Magic VII!) working on one of the computers, and holy crap where did the day go? Also, after a year of lurking at Mark Does Stuff, I almost got up the nerve to delurk because omg they sorted non-HP characters wrong.

I borrowed the Sun Crusher's name straight out of the EU, yep. I thought at the very least, the blatant rip-off of ANH callback to the Death Star could have a different name. And yeah, I dislike the repetition too; I decided to go with it somewhat, but have the focus be on preventing the SC's construction rather than putting the characters on it.

Re: Vader -- thank you! In both ANH and ESB, it's pretty clear that he's the Empire's resident brain; as Obi-Wan says, a cunning warrior. So I wanted to retain that. (I suspect this is the reason Thrawn and Mara and so on don't really work for me. The dynamic we see in the movies rather falls apart if there are a bunch of highly intelligent, fully competent, basically decent people running around the upper ranks.)

Of course, I know you're only using some elements of the prequels...and I don't remember if you touch on this later or not, but do you assume that the Empire is older than Palpatine, or go with the PT assumption that the Empire's only as old as Luke is?I always thought the Empire ( ... )
