Just curious

Tai and I were sniffing a bag of poppyseed bagels trying to figure out if they'd gone off yet. They smelled bagely, which is always a bit sour.
"And poppyseed smell," said I.
"Poppyseeds don't have a smell," said Tai.
"They do to me," said I.
We looked at each other.

So!

Spose I could always open up the bag in the cabinet since forever and stick my nose in *snrrrk*

Keep in mind of course that 1) my sense of smell sucks 2) yours is overdeveloped in the other direction ~

I can tell you it did have a smell to me when we first got it, but since the bag is stubborn about closing, I think it's mostly gone stale.

And also, these are two true facts. I just wonder. :3

I have never given it much thought, in that whenever I have seen a poppyseed bagel, it was from a distance and I did not nom it, sir.

I like... plain bagels. But I don't go out of my way to eat them, no. If there are English muffins and bagels offered at the same time, this kiff will nom the muffin.

I do, however, love bagel chips, specifically the garlic ones. I have eaten an entire bag at once. I learned that this was a mistake. XD

Wasn't sure what to answer with as I think I can. I am trying to recall what they smell like and I have a scent in mind. But I never really thought about it?

In my experience they smell slightly musty. I have to be NEAR them, and it's not like if I walked into a room that smelled of them the first thing I would think would be "poppyseeds!" But poppyseeds in the absence of smell would seem odd and disconcerting.

I find the smell of them really difficult to describe, although I suppose "musty" could be a part of it. They just smell like poppyseeds.
