So, I found a ficcer who does lots of awesome stories about minor one-shot or infrequently-recurring characters from Highlander: The Series. I especially like the fics about Cory Raines, Matthew McCormick, and Carl Robinson. (Matthew taught both of the other two.) There's a load of them that are crossovers with X-Files, because Matthew is an FBI ( Read more... )

1st Carl episode: season 2, episode 9 "Run For Your Life"
2nd Carl/only Matthew: season 5, episode 3 "Manhunt"
only Cory episode: season 5, episode 6 "Money No Object"

(Carl also mentioned in s5e8 "Little Tin God", when at the end Duncan gets a postcard from him telling him the young new Immortal featured in the episode is doing okay, so extend the "family" to add Derek Worth as Carl's student...)

Cory is basically Robin Hood.

Although the Watcher CD lists "Robert Locksley" as an Immortal. 9_9

Not everyone famous was/is/should be an Immie! In fact, they shouldn't be! Ask Carl, it's difficult to be famous and Immortal!

So! Watched the Carl episodes (he's barely mentioned at the end of the Derek episode), and the Matthew episode (it being the second Carl episode) and the Cory episode.

Nothing about what Matthew was doing or who he was before he was a slave-owning plantation owner in the American South. Nothing about what Cory was doing before he was "...just think of me as the Robin Hood of the 1920s"ing, and also that episode really showcased Duncan being a whiny, petulant, vindictive jerk, and Amanda playing headgames and then getting upset when Duncan doesn't understand what she wants from him despite never telling him what that was, with a "wah-wah forever alone" Duncan bit at the end that I just wasn't feeling. When Richie is being a jerk and is still the most sympathetic and sensible recurring character in the episode, soemthing has gone awry ( ... )
