I have written other Clara theories. I started out thinking she was the Doctor's granddaughter. I also had lots of thoughts on whether she was a [Gallifreyan] egg or a bird or something. Very interesting ideas. I'm not sure i'm totally sold (I really want Clara to be an extraordinary regular human) but very interesting speculation. And Moffat totally is a big enough troll to try that!

2) There is so much about Clara's story and Clara's role in the Doctor's life (and just about Moffat's writerly preoccupations) that loses its power if it's not about relating to other people and the power that other people have over your life.
