Lovely as ever <3 I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner, was just trying to catch up on things roughly in order . . .

So Clara is in the middle, mirroring both of them. (Many thought Missy would turn out to be an evil Clara echo, esp given her outfit.) It would not surprise me in the least for Clara to be caught in the middle between them both in the final part, having to choose… And the choice not being easy.
I wonder if we're not heading for a Clara saves the world/the Doctor saves Clara kind of thing? I'm still waiting on the Doctor sacrifices himself for Clara resolution that I assumed we'd be getting with Eleven's regeneration. And since Clara is now the Doctor (which would make the Doctor her companion), that would be generally how finales go.

Also obviously the Doctor can never save the Master. But if Clara is becoming the Master, he can save Clara. You probably won't even read this until after you've seen the finale anyway, but thought I'd throw it out there *g*

Order? You silly thing.

You know, I wouldn't have pegged The Caretaker as the episode to take my cues from...

Heh.

It's a good thought.

I loved Missy very much. So did my mum, which surprised me as she's a very old fan of DW, but it was also refreshing. It was fun to see Twelve, who's been one of the more 'masterful' Doctors (hahaha), reduced to complete horror and utter terror, put in a state of true panic. Which could only be done by Missy, I suspect. Capaldi's face acting is matched only by Gomez's face acting.

DANNY. Oh my God, he killed a kid and then he became a teacher with kids asking him if he'd ever killed someone...! Oh Danny. So brave and so lonely. A man who loves Clara enough to make her let go of him so she can live her life. Because what else was he going to say to her when she threatened to hang up? Clara making the mistake that very clever people often make of thinking everyone else is stupid. I would point out that this is the one instance in this episode where Danny thinks rationally and Clara is emotional.

Missy is very very good. And played completely straight, as it were.

Missy is chaos he can't control...

She is AMAZING. I want to keep her forever.

Someone called him 'a ladykiller' so I'd sort of presumed he'd killed a woman... This was truly a sucker punch.

I liked him before, but he absolutely sold it this episode. Amazing.

HAHAHAHA *sobs*

I loved him so much. The fact that Samuel Anderson's played him very calm and stoic means that when you see him upset and breaking down... your heart just BREAKS for him. Poor man. Poor, brave man. The only person who doesn't do what Clara Oswald tells him to do.

This. The one person the control freak can't control. And that's very important - what will she do without him?

Lovely meta! Can't wait for your thoughts on Missy in the finale.

I love Missy something fierce. THANK YOU SANTA MOFF FOR INTRODUCING ME TO MICHELLE GOMEZ.

Her droid scene was the best. So much puzzled robot recording plus indignation plus flirtation. I don't know why, but I also really liked the delivery of the line "Clara, Clara, Clara, Clara... I could shoot her in a jealous rage... my, now wouldn't that be sexy."

What a demented Mary Poppins. I loved every second.

I could quote every single line. It's extraordinary.

We get the BEST villains. :D Thank you Santa Moff.

I am flailing all over the place with all of your thoughts. XD SO MANY THINGS! Clara's development independently of the Doctor, Clara having her Waters of Mars, Clara manipulating vs. the Ponds' unmovable obstacle strategy, the relevance of the TARDIS keys, the River reference in the book she took, and CLARA BEING CLAIMED BY BOTH MISSY AND THE DOCTOR. ♥ I haven't yet finished watching Death in Heaven so I don't know how this turns out, but omfg, all the love for that idea ( ... )

This episode was just crammed full. I love it.

It didn't turn out how I expected, but I was very happy with what we got. :)

You make a very good point about the gender-swap-ish twist with Danny's position and Clara's. Oh, his story was so emotional. ♥
Poor, poor Danny. And heroic right to the end.

This episode just had all the intensity. And seeing plot callbacks in hindsight, in Deep Breath most of all! What a thrill. Episode parallels always do make me so happy, everything is connected. (Those classic parallels ( ... )

MISSY! We need MOAR MISSY!
ALL THE MISSY! (I'm cheering at everything that implies she might be back… ♥)

You can't have BOTH future fem!Doctor AND m/m slash.
*nods*

(Also re. not getting any m/m snogging last time, then I lay that at RTD's door. And he is gay, so he has no excuse. *g*)
True ;)

Michelle Gomez knows what she is talking about.

I have SO MUCH TO SAY about Death in Heaven... *flails and falls over*
Can't wait to see that! :D (I kept thinking about the shift between End of Time!Doctor/Master and Missy's current reactions to him… "I wonder what I'd be without that noise."/"Wonder what I'd be, without you." It's like she's channelling both and it makes all the sense ♥)
