[Natter about Buffy's anniversary & background for fic]So, Buffy's anniversary. I wanted to do something to mark it, but couldn't think of anything... Until I remembered this fic. I started it back in 2006 or 2007, and wrote 14 chapters (amounting to about 50,000 words) but never posted anything because this story (unlike pretty much all my other stuff) hasRead more... )

I love this - so well written. You had me at both carrying themselves with the unconscious easy authority and self-assurance of warriors long accustomed to battle. It's been a long time since I read fic, let alone a WIP, but if I read slowly, maybe you'll finish by the time I get caught up.

I have to ask, as I ask all writers of superior fic, why do you not write professionally? I know fic-writing is absorbing and the feedback is satisfying, but some writers (i.e., you) are good enough to be published. Why aren't you?

I also think of substandard writers who are published, but let's not go there. Grrr

*beams* That's one of my favourite lines, thank you for pulling that out. (It's a little pompous maybe, but I like that, making it that bit more fairytale like.)

Good thinking. :) My projected finishing date is middle of September. Also, there are two prequels to this (one short, one long), so there's PLENTY there.

Well, I have had several essays/pieces published (well, three + another four - I can give further details if you're curious) and am working on two books. One of which is a trilogy. So give it time...
