Awww! Perfect ending! I have to say I love Buffy scheming to set up Dawn with Connor; though I think she actually might just as easily run screaming to keep them separated.
Ilyria's monuments are very moving. I'd love to have seen the inscriptions though...
Awww! Perfect ending! Thank you so much - I never knew how I was going to finish, so it was very difficult to write. I'm glad it worked.
And Dawn and Connor - I know it's a bit of a cliche, but I couldn't resist! ;)
The inscriptions on the stones were as follows: Gunn’s [stone] was small and simple, bearing the words: ‘Charles Gunn, a brave fighter’. Wesley’s was larger and bore this inscription: ‘Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, Great Watcher and Warrior, The One who always sought The Truth.’ (From Chapter 8. Which was - how many months ago?)
And who knows? Maybe someday there'll be a sequel...
Both of them had challenged her world-view and accepted beliefs. Had caused her more happiness and grief than she had thought possible Very true and I suspect no matter who she ends up with some day that will still be the case. Thanks for a great story.
Lovely story. Fair to the charcters and history yet holding hope. Perhaps after the baby comes we could see a sequel..even a short look at that promised possible future!
Thank you so much Kathleen. And if another plot bunny comes my way I'd love to do a sequel at some point. Although at the moment I'm looking forward to catching up on loads of fic - yours included! :)
