Loved this chapter too, especially Angel's perplexity at why Buffy hadn't chosen him. I felt it was very in character.

And I just couldn't leave Angel... he's such a fascinating character, I wanted to explore what's underneath all that self-sacrificing hero-stuff!

I think you did a really great job with Angel, here, very sympathetic but also falling into old patterns of expecting too much, like at the end!
Having seen Buffy dead at his feet himself, Angel understood the pain far too well.
Ouch. Poor Angel.
The demon was an odd greenish murky colour, and looked like he’d faded in the wash... probably a sign of age, as demons were often brightly coloured when young.
I really loved that description of the demon; too often they're just 'in' the story, but you really brought it to light.

Ouch. Poor Angel.
As I wrote, I realised that they'd both seen her killed - and resurrected by Scoobies - wildly different circumstances of course, but it's another thing they share.
Also glad you liked my demon lord. I wanted someone with info, but not a convenient White Hat - and lo and behold, this chap popped up! :)
