It seems like a great deal of my flist is not feeling very happy at the moment, so since I can't actually show up on the doorstep with ice cream and a bottle of wine, I thought I'd rec a few things that have cheered me up lately:

Nope. After mentioning South Park to Darcy, he decided that we really needed to re-watch it. Have you seen it (the movie)?

And I love that essay... I've been keeping it as my special secret for ages now, but felt that really I ought to share... and tight blue t-shirt! ::giggles::

Enjoyed the South Park and the Barbie Girl one, though I thought the latter could have used less of the clip art inserts. The cuts and clips were already quite well done. (Buffybot is so cute!) Like you, I was also surprised there weren't other videos out there on that theme. I know there was a Buffybot one to "Electric Barbarella" and apparently there has been one to "Barbie Girl" but it doesn't seem to be online now.

I rather liked Cybermintz's "Spike Who Loved Me" too, the "These Dreams" one was quite pretty and the opening to "La Donna e Mobile" was PERfect.

I know what you mean - I kept wanting to push them out of the way so I could see what was going on!

I've not got round to watching all of Cybermitz's vids yet, but she's seems very talented.

If I had to rec just one vid however, it'd definitely be sdwolfpup's 'Coin Operated Boy' which is a perfect matching of subject and song and with spot-on editing! It deals with the question of what Buffy wants in a boy...

All of her vids can be found here. If you're not familiar with her work you should most definitely have a look! You won't regret it!

I remember seeing you rec that vid sometime back and I took a look. I agree, very well done, and it makes a great statement too. At some point it may show up on my video recs as well :>

Just downloaded that one last night. Found it too, too amusing to resist! miss_jaffacakes had bunches of good ones but I've already got a folder full of icons I have to keep rotating.

I've got hundreds of icons sat in folders waiting for some day when I decide to use them... the problem is that I love all those I have uploaded at the moment and don't want to delete any. *sigh* How come 50 isn't enough? [/rhetorical question]

Oooh, vids. I think I'd better leave them until tomorrow now to download as it's getting rather late, but thanks for the recs. I had some wine anyway even if you didn't turn up with a bottle, though it would have been lovely if you had!

When it comes to vids, I can recommend everything by sdwolfpup - especially the Spuffy/Spike ones (of course!).

Well, your vids are brilliant, so the reccing comes naturally... sadly I can't shared them with my husband so I'll have to squee over them online!

And re. your post on reccing, when ever someone recs my fics I tend to fall over in amazement and then thank them profusely! I still find it difficult to think of myself as a writer...
