Hmmm... I have to say I've mixed feeling on the subject of season 6. I love the characters, and more about them is always good. But on the otherhand I adore the NFA. It's so perfect; and leaving the end result of that fight in the alley unknown ties in so well with the underlying themes of the series. Plus, Wes is dead. Dead!

Also, I'm over-all a little disappointed in Buffy: Season8. I liked a lot of things about it, but I like my person vision of the post-chosen story (not to mention everything I've read in the many wonderful fan-fiction stories I've devoured over the years) much more than "Buffy, et al live in a remote castle, cut off from the real world".

I kinda don't want to spoil Angel, Spike, Ilyria, and Gunn that way. Though if Gunn get vamped I may be swayed... It's a puzzlement!

Oh I love NFA too. Impossibly much. The thing is that in my world no comic book could *ever* be canon.

I mean it can't possibly be worse than S8! *g* (Also the point of Chosen was that Buffy could do *anything*, which is why tying her down again makes me sad. I'm with you on the wariness re: s6. The end of NFA is such a strong statement, it's going to be *very* hard to come up with a wannabe canon to continue that...

I'm with you on the wariness re: s6.
My optimism comes from two places: 1) The show was *cancelled* and there was supposed to be a season 6! [*hates Fox*] and 2) Lynch is a total fanboy and will hopefully respect the characters we love. Both of which should - if all goes well - add up to a story that's as good as the fic out there. And I adore post-NFA fic.
