Today is a special day, because it is the birthday of my wonderful beta (and very talented iconmaker) kathyh! *throws confetti* And since I am no good at baking (I’d send brownies if I was), instead I managed to locate a little plotbunny. Which of course works out in favour for all the rest of you! *g

Dude that was great, I have thought Rose would be a great name for their first born. Though mine in my bad fic, would be a daughter genetically being Spike and Angel's. To me if your going to have an impossible baby, why not have an impossible impossible baby in which you get a genetic female from two guys. Acourse Buffy did carry her. Figured Buffy, Angel and Spike got into a "big" mystical thing, like in a very very bad book by Nancy Holden. And Rose popped out first, then her other two sibs came out later. Three half siblings are not that unusual. Minus being from two men, yet.

Thank you! :) And yes, Rose is a very pretty name - I figured it'd also tie in with Spike's Victorian roots. (No 'Tara Anne Joyce' in *my* fics!)

And your fic sounds... complicated. Although as you say, you only go where Nancy Holden went first! (What *is* it about tie-in novels?)

Well I figured my Rose is well...weird. She kinda of shows up a dimension hopper with a Jinn boyfriend. I know bad, bad fic, but when you going to do that an impossible pregnancy, I say go all the way. And it does complete the triangle, though very badly.

Oh absolutely! And there's nothing wrong with bad fic, as long as you *know* it bad - because then it becomes crack!fic and crack!fic is fun! :)

Awwwww. So sweet. Loved the dual reactions to Buffy's pregnancy - so very much in character. Writing shanshu!vamps is a lot like writing vamp!scoobies in a way - tweaking the character just enough - and you pull it off marvellously.

*beams* I readily admit that this is probably partly because I am unhealthily obsessed and actually have these characters living inside my head, but yeah it's fun to tweak them. :)

It's an old and very random private joke between me and a guy at slayerfanfic.com, and probably not of interest to anyone else, but it makes me giggle helplessly whenever anyone mentions "rose" in any relation to Spangel. The gist of it is that Spike likes to play dress-up during sex - specifically, dressing up as the Golden Girls. Angel was Rose, since Spike kinda looks a bit like Bea Arthur.

This was lovely and poignant and fun, and it made me laugh and smile and cry all at once.

Spike, with a leer, comments that her tits are looking great. But then he softly lays his hand on her belly, and the look of awe on his face makes her blink back tears.

They both smile more than she can ever remember. Big wide grins, full of joy and excitement, and one evening Angel goes down to the tiny Catholic church by the harbour and lights a candle.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. This is my favorite passage. I suspect a baby would create nothing but jealousy between Angel and Spike; but since Angel already has Connor, they might be able to make it work.
