That's still no excuse for S11 being so tepid and safe. :/

S12 is what I was hoping S11 would be - it's still got problems but at least it's interesting.

Ryan and Yaz got some actual character work at last and I was pleased by that (even if I kind of agree with the Downtime reviewers that it's too late for Yaz). With Graham, I'm torn between appreciating the storyline and resenting how much focus he's getting even now.

Oh no. I have no idea what happened there, to be honest.

Yup. BE ENTERTAINING. That's all I ask. (If it's Five-like too, then all the better.)

What I am hoping now, is that they both leave? As in, decide that travelling was nice, but they want to stay on Earth now and work there. How wonderful would that be? Companions that don't want to stay forever?

I hear ya, but since he's by far the most interesting character... IDK.

Either way, writing fic about Thirteen made me appreciate her so much more (even before S12 began). She is wonderfully flawed!

If you subscribe to the theory that Nine is like Three (badass but overshadowed by his immensely popular successor), Ten is like Four (totally crazy, huge fan favourite), Eleven is like Five (youngest actor to play the Doctor, sacrifices himself for someone he barely knows) and Twelve is like Six (very different from his predecessor, a bit harsh and can rub people the wrong way) then Thirteen should be like Seven and I am starting to see hints of that.

It's about time we had another Martha exit. :) It seems like Ryan is getting to that point already, not sure about Graham or Yaz though.

He's the most interesting character because he's been given the most development and depth. *sigh*

I have never heard this theory before... I am not sure I subscribe, but it's certainly interesting.

This is where it breaks down for me. Eleven is Seven-like (looks silly, master manipulator, always ten steps ahead), and Thirteen is very much 'rolling with the punches'. Five-like in many ways, but with her own daft charm and far more damaged & far more enigmatic.

It's difficult to predict what characters will do when we know so little about them or what they want.

Well, they might kill him off. ;) Get the big hero moment.

I can definitely see why she would be fun when it comes to fanfiction because she's suppressing SO MUCH and you can take that in any number of ( ... )
