I'm blaming the rats

Between 1am and 7am this morning, my apartment was robbed. None of my stuff was stolen but my roommate lost his cigars, laptop, computer, monitor, external harddrive, tv, digital camera, and a blanket. Weird thing is, my iPod was on the coffee table and was completely ignored. My iPod is much cooler than a Dell laptop. We already filed a police ( Read more... )

(((HUGS))) To be honest, it sounds like someone was targetting your roommate. Given that your iPod was in plain view and not taken. Just a thought.

I thought that too for awhile but I can't imagine anyone not liking Matt. Obviously it's possible but he's such a great guy to everyone that I just can't see it happening.

My iPod was in plain view but it's also in a case so it doesn't scream iPod. There's a chance they just didn't know what it was, I guess, but it is a weird twist.

I'm sorry :( I can empathize -- our house was burglarized last March. They got our DVD player, the gold watch I gave my husband as a wedding present, our mini-disc player, my laptop, and my trumpet -- and a few other things. It's SUCH a horrible feeling.

Fortunately none of my stuff was taken (usually I leave my laptop in the living room but last night before I went to bed I decided to take it into my bedroom - I'm so lucky). What mostly bothers me is that some random person (or people) was walking around in my apartment while I was sleeping. They just came in and I didn't notice. Matt and I spent a good hour this morning trying to figure out how someone could get in and then we came up with ideas to make sure it could never happen again. I never really worried about locking the doors before this (although I always did out of habit). I just feel so... icky.

too bad you didn't wake up, you would have wiped the walls with that guy

If I had been awake, that muthafuckin' robber so would have been bitchslapped until he was bruised and bloody. I really wish I would have been awake. Sure, the insurance covers the loss, but whoever did it totally needs an ass kicking and I'm ready to do some damage.

That's terrible! Glad you didn't get any of your stuff stolen.

Yeah, me too, but I hate being selfish like that. If my laptop would have been stolen, egad. I would have died.
