But even when making fun of the way the signmaker at the police department misuses (OVER uses, actually) "quotation" "marks," it is still a good idea to pay attention to the underlying message ( Read more... )

:-( I hate, hate, hate theft of deeply personal items. Bad enough when you get your stereo stolen, but things like laptop, personal documents, etc. Ugh. *sends hope the thief is discovered or barring that, the thief develops a nasty rash in a deeply personal place*

All locked. Credit cards were the easy part, actually. Worst is replacing the ten checks on their way to the bank.

so sorry this happened - re the checks, maybe it's time you did your banking on the internet?
Hope you had a back up of your laptop- reminds me that my last one was done in May, must do it this weekend.

Ugh. That is the pits. I'm glad you had backup cover, but that doesn't make up for having your car broken in to.

I'm glad you're safe and weren't caught up in a fight.

I hope the little shit(s) are caught.

Oh no no no no no.... *hugs you hard* That's so horrible. All the trouble you'll have to go to, and the feeling of violation. *more hugs*

Perhaps you should have been more cautious - but I for one deeply resent the fact that a certain percentage of people are such greedy, lazy, opportunistic shits that we "have" to go round protecting what's ours all the time. Damn their eyes. I hope whoever it is gets piles.

Piles. Yes.

The guy who fixed my window said, "You OUGHT to be able to leave things in your own car."

Oh bloody buggering hell, I'm so sorry that happened. Try not to beat yourself up- you didn't hold a gun to the thief's head and say "TAKE MY THINGS OR YOU'RE DEAD." He/she made the choice to do what he/she did, and may he/she suffer Odogoddess's and Dicky's wishes for nasty rash and piles. Maybe a nasty rash ON piles.

I hope the police are able to recover your belongings and that the only thing the thief gets out of his/her actions is a long, uncomfortable (sore and itchy) stint behind bars. And barring that, may you be able to replace your valuables with a minimum of hassle and go back to gleefully mocking extraneous quotation marks.

I hope the audition went well, at least. *huge hugs*

Just got off the phone with Equifax, placing a fraud alert on my account, and they contact the other two bureaus, so there's two less calls I have to make. Now on to replacing the rest of the lost checks....

And if I can get my mother to stop calling with the latest helpful hint (today's was a gadget available at Bed Bath & Beyond to carry cellphone and credit cards on one's wrist---she prefaced it by telling me where she thought the closest store was located---happens to be a store that's closed, by the way!).

Rash ON piles, yes!

*huge hugs right back atcha!*
