Title: Destroy Our World Characters: Sayid, Eko Rating: PG Spoilers: 5.10 "He's Our You" Disclaimer: Not mine! lostsquee luau: For zelda_zee, who requested Sayid.
I loved the image of Sayid trying to pray and not being able to. For some reason that really struck me.
Eko is one of my favorite characters, so I was glad you wrote about him. What he said to Sayid is so interesting - to build the world, not destroy it. I can easily imagine that Eko is someone Sayid would respect and I can just see his words being able to break through Sayid's defenses. Plus, you made sense of Sayid's bizarre foray into volunteerism! Bravo!
Thanks so much Z! I'm glad you liked my offering. I was going to cook up something hot and porny for you, but my porn is broken so Sawyer/Sayid just wasn't happening for me. I started thinking of what could have POSSIBLY prompted that whole Sayid-with-a-hammer storyline because w. t. f. and this is what I came up with. I'm happy I somehow made that strange biz make a kind of sense.
Oh, Laura! That is wonderful; that Eko could give Sayid such hope. I absolutely love the vision of him making Sayid cry like that, and him realising he can do something to make things better. Gorgeous.
Oh, believe me, I like to see him! I always like to see the characters who aren't written that much. I know that at a recent jam session at the Quill, there was a question about how people wrote the least, and there was a long list of people saying the Tailies - it was starting to look like I'd be talking to myself at the "Art of Writing the Tailies", still might come to that!
Oh, you should! The Tailies have definitely fallen off the map as far as writing them is concerned. I've always wanted more Ana fic, as I loved that character, but no one writes her anymore (not that they ever wrote her much to begin with!) It'd be interesting to see people delve into the Tailies again in some way.
There are so many parallels between Eko and Sayid that this scene felt completely plausible. I love the idea of Eko offering Sayid a bit of a hope. Wonderful job!
Thank you very much! Eko and Sayid really did seem to have a lot of similarities when I stopped to think about it, so I'm glad that you thought so too. :)
