Wow. What a sympathetic portrayal of Sarah. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds her among their 'least favorites' and that little ficlet helped to remind me that everybody has points of view and surely she didn't mean to cheat on Jack or rip his still-beating heart out of his chest. Surely.

I liked how it all revolved around the piano. Part of me wonders what she thought she was wrong about in the end and what new realizations she came to.

Thanks for sharing and stepping up to the challenge.

Thank you! I kept having to delete stuff as I wrote this because I was trying to write it from Sarah's POV, and I kept writing things where she realizes how horrible and terrible she is. I had to remind myself that Sarah thinks of herself as A-OK.

Surely. Yeah. Right. *cough*she'sawhore*cough*

I think the end is just my little hope that one day Sarah would realize that she was equally to blame, that she never really loved him either and they both were wrong. I was going to write more and have her kind of watching Kate at the funeral, and for her to see someone who truly loved him and how they reacted and how it makes her realize she's been lying to herself all along in portraying herself as wronged...but then I'm having issues with Kate right now too so I didn't go there. Oy!

Oh, Sarah. Every time I watch ATOTC, I still have this hope that maybe THIS time when she turns to walk into the street, she'll be hit by a bus. I so wanted it.

Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments, that really means a lot. Sarah is so hard to write, because I just want to be mean to her and make her suffer! But I've been thinking on this piano piece for awhile so I decided that for lostsquee I would finally do it!

Ha ha!

She does get my knickers in a knot - not because she's illogical or wrong, but because she was a meany-weany to Jack. And because Shannon was made an orphan because of her and her wonky legs.

But this was a good, keening kind of ache.

An ache for what could have been.

Yeah! Damn her! It's always been unclear b/c the writers messed up, as to who exactly hit who, but I place the blame squarely on Sarah's shoulders. Her and her stupidity!

Thank you so much! It would've been interesting to see her interact with Sawyer at the funeral...I so would've gone slashy with them though, it's so hard not to. Sarah realizing that her ex-husband loved other men would've been adding a whole other dimension to this story. ;)

Thanks for reading and for all of your insightful comments! Sarah really is so blind and self-involved; it seems in the future she's still as self-centered as she was back then. At least in fic world, I can force her to realize what a horrible person she is! It's a small satisfaction.

Hee, yeah, I totally did in APTIUT. That was FUN, let me tell you. I would really enjoy seeing Sarah's face if she saw Jack and Sawyer making out. Oh man, would she deserve it.

I'm so happy that you like Jack, that you appreciate him! There really is this animosity out there toward him, it hurts my soul. There are a ton of Jack lovers out there, but I feel like the majority of them aren't writing fic. What do we need to do to get more Jack fic, eh? Well, I will keep trying to fill the void. :)

Hmmm, I will keep that idea in mind for when I inevitably come back to S&S and write more. I'm incapable of not coming back to my series. lol.
