Title: Patterns of Behavior Characters: Jack, Tom Rating: G Spoilers: Through 3.09 “Stranger in a Strange Land” Disclaimer: Not Mine! Prompt: For psych_30 #24, Skinner Box
I really liked this! The idea was lovely, Tom would so be spying on Jack's moves trying to figure him out and Jack would hate pushing any button by then. Though it's sad he doesn't get the fish biscuit, poor him ;)
I just always loved that scene because I, being a total Jack whore, was like, "Ha, of COURSE Jack wouldn't get himself electrocuted, because he's made of AWESOME and SMARTS like that." Even though I love Sawyer to pieces, occasionally the Jack love triumphs and sticks it tongue out at the Sawyer love and says "nah, nah, nah nah, nah!"
I figured Tom would be watching Jack whenever he could, seeing as how Tom had the hots for him and all.
Would Jack eat a fish biscuit? I think he counted on his grilled cheese sandwiches. The benefits of buddying up to Juliet, I guess! :)
I kind of figured that they knew a bit about what was going on down there, since when Ben brought Juliet to the Pearl, it seemed like Ben, at least, had tuned in before.
I'm totally drabbling my way out of both philosophy_20 and psych_30. It's the only way it's ever gonna get done!
Thanks for reading and for the comments, hon! *loves*
It took me a moment to figure out what was going on. I thought Tom was commenting on Jack exploring something else altogether and wondering how long it will take Jack to figure out his feelings for Sawyer. See this is what fic has done to me. Sends my mind to the gutter. Of course, what you did was more interesting. Loved the last line.
Hee! That's great, because when I was writing it, I was purposely thinking the same thing. I was all..."Wow, this is going to seem quite possibly really, really dirty until I make it clear what's going on." My mind is permanently in the gutter, it has a pimped out lounge down there. ;) I'm glad you liked this, though! *hugs* Thanks for reading! :)
Awwwr... Tom really lurfed his pookie a lot. You know he was so impressed with him and his smartiepants big brain way back in the operating room. Of course, it helps that McGainey actually PLAYED him as a swooning Jack fangirl, per his own confession.
I loved the button twist. You know I'm a big fan of your minificlets. And I loved a review some fanboy put up not knowing what that kind of thing does to us. "We see once more the difference between Sawyer and Jack. Sawyer [something, something... mainly how he's like an impatient kid and just knocks into stuff], while Jack gently rocks the candy machine back and forth."
Ahem... "He's a one-stop shot, makes my panties drop, he's a sweet, chocolate, sugar honey Candy Man!"
HA! "He's a one-stop shot, makes my panties drop, he's a sweet, chocolate, sugar honey Candy Man!" I think that should be the subheader for jporf. :) *giggles*
I can't tell you how much I love M.C. Gainey for playing Tom as totally gaga for Jack and telling everyone about it too. That's one awesome guy who knows where the hotness lies. You know Tom wanted a piece of that, and was jealous that Juliet got the sweet gig.
Thanks for the compliments on the fic, babe! I always loved that scene when Jack presses it and then is like, "yeah, this is bullshit" and leaves it alone, whereas Sawyer just keeps pressing it even after he's warned by Karl not to, like a petulant child, and gets zapped. It says so much about their characters with so little.
