awww little!jack :(
his stories always make my wanna go give him a big hug! especially this one, even though me and little kids are like polar opposites! plus, omg, the fact that they gave him encyclopedias is really funny because i have a friend and for christmas last year her parents gave her an atlas! haha and thats all i could think of when i read that part in the story...ANYWAY

Furiously he wipes his face but it doesn’t matter because no one is paying attention to the small boy in the corner anyway.

see...no little 7 year old boy should be ignored or alone at christmas, but for the purpose of your story it's okay because its a lovely story!

*hugs!!*

ha! me too. little kids just...ick. i don't like being around them much. but i want to hug little!jack too. his childhood must have been so lonely. well...so is his adulthood too, really. Poor Jack. :(

I'm happy you liked this though! *giggles* over the atlas. When parents give their kids presents like that...man. What are they thinking? No kid wants encyclopedias or an atlas for Christmas!!!

Thanks for reading and for the fb! *hugs back*

Awwwwwwww poor little Jack :(

Imagine giving your wee son encycolpedias for christmas ...... Jesus ***shakes head***

This is how i've always imagined Jacks childhood to be and i really like how you wrote Margo cos i've always thought of her as the type of mother that would show off her son to all her friends then totally ignore him the rest of the time !!

My god no wonder our beloved Jack has relationship issues lmao :)

xx

Thank you! I'm glad you liked this one. I can just imagine Christian giving something to Jack for Christmas that no child in his right mind would want. And Margo seemed like a real cold fish to me in "White Rabbit" so I've written her that way ever since. Poor little Jack indeed! *hugs him*

Thanks for reading and for the fb! *glomps*

awwww. Poor Jack! This is awesome, you talented girl you. You have such a grasp on the character of Jack you can pick any point in his life and just write it so truthfully--this is one of those moments you'd wish lost would show, but i'd take you over the show anyday-great job laur

I wish we would get a bit more of Jack's childhood on the show too. I liked the glimpse of young Jack in "White Rabbit". We've seen young moments from Sun, Jack, Charlie and Sawyer, but that's it, right? They should do more.

Thanks for reading this and for the love, honey. *glomps you* That you think I have a good grasp on Jack makes me squee. :)

poor lil' Jack! what a cold Xmas, he has the money and high social status but none of this matters, especially for a 7 year-old kid. What's more important is the comfort of a homey house, hot chocolate and someone to look after him. You've just described it wonderfully! *hugs Jack and wipes his tears* ;-)

thank you so much, darling! I'm glad you liked this little fic...it's hard to write from little Jack's POV and keep it at that level, I always think I'm getting far too observant and aware from the propspective of a 7 year old kid. But the idea of Jack in the big house with all those adults, being the only kid there and knowing that everyone at Marc's home is having the good comfy time he wants to have...poor baby. We all need to hug him, don't we?

Thanks for reading this and thanks for the fb! You rock my world. :)

OK, I avoided this story on Christmas day intentionally, because I figured it would do one of two things to me:

a) make me sad to read about Jack's Christmas as a kid because I knew Margo would just parade him in front of relatives who don't give a damn and he'd have to wear something he doesn't like and he'd be lonely and sad.

Nothing happens except his mother walking by and pulling up on his shoulder, reminding him to sit up straight.

I could so see this coming... :(
b) given the title, Marc would make an appearance and you'd fullfil my dream of writing about Jack having a surrogate family of sorts with the Silvermans. I'd squee myself silly and I'd go all mushy on Christmas... :D

Well, both of those things happened and this story is now my second favorite in the whole advent calendar. :) This is definitely your best portrayal of little!Jack and damn it, my ovaries are flipping just thinking about it. I want to take his shoes off, make him hot chocolate with extra marshmallows and cuddle him till he falls asleep ( ... )

You and I do have the same Jack wavelength, do we not? I'm glad we imagine Margo behaving the same way. She's such a cold fish. I've always been in love with the idea of Jack getting to just be this normal kid when he's over at the Silverman's, you know, sloppy shirts and messy hair, playing video games and romping around, eating comfort food off of mismatched plates with Marc and his more boisterous, loving family. It was a nice image in my head so I want to believe Jack had that. :) I'm glad you thought of it too.

I've been to those parties too...don't they SUCK? I hate them.

It's funny what you wrote about this story being sad because I knew it was sad too, which is why I posted Jack/Sawyer porn that day too, to try and balance it out. I was like, "I can't be all sad on Christmas Eve!" so I wrote up porn really quickly to post too. :)

thanks for reading and for your always-awesome and thoughtful feedback, babe! *loves you*

It makes me *so* giddy because you also happened to have the talent to make something out of those wavelenghts.

It was a nice image in my head so I want to believe Jack had that. :) I'm glad you thought of it too.

Oh, I've been thinking about it eversince I saw WR. And he'd have a crush on Marc's older sister, but little!Jack is shy and Marc just teases him about it... and the only reason we haven't seen the Silvermans mentioned when Jack was going through such a rough time is because Mr. Silverman died after Jack and Marc graduated, and so Jack's surrogate family moved to the East Coast. Er... let's see? Have I been thinking about it much?

*loves ya right back* December was my favorite month of the year because I had so many little Jack!nuggets to enjoy. Thank you!
