I think I would like Night They Closed the Iguana best. I love stories where character must struggle with the most monumental decision of his life, reluctant to let go of what was even though little of it remains.
I've read excerpts from Lex Valentine, one which made me first laugh, and then nearly cry, so I think it a safe bet this story will be a good one.
From your description of William's story, I think he is up to his old tricks, like an expressionist who paints with words, throwing them at the page in seemingly disjointed fashion until you reach the pivotal point of the phrase and realize he's taken you some place exciting.
Thank you for this review, Elisa. Reading here is almost as good as reading the books.

The Iguana is both very sad and very romantic, yes, it's probably my favorite too, even if I actually can't say if it's a full happily ever after, at least it's not for all the men involved. But nevertheless it's romantic and I liked it like that. Elisa
