Very interesting short story you reviewed. I wonder if there will be more? It reminded me of a slave/master story I read on an archive a long time ago which had a real impact on me; the slaves in that story wore a red sash if they are bed slaves also.
There is an entire universe of these short story by L.E. Bryce, not strictly connected but more or less set in the same fantasy world. Actually L.E. Bryce has two different world, one in a fantasy north sea kingdom regarding the stories of the Water Goddess lovers, and one in a fantasy arabian country regarding the stories of different characters.
