I think it's really interesting to read when writers write as the opposite sex.

There's a good set of erotica books out now by a husband wife author team called Leda Swann. I rec 'em:)

Great article, Elisa! It's interesting to hear about the other side of the coin - Men writing as women.

To tell you truth, I was hesitating to comment this post since last night :D

although what "being gay" and "female psyche" have to do with one another is beyond me

I always love his words :)

Believe it or not, one of my favorite books is "9 1/2 Weeks". I found it at secondhand bookstore and this book traveled around the world with me!(imagine its condition now)
It was written by Elizabeth McNeill as pseudonym, and there is a rumor that the author is male.

Why Max, do you fear me? :-)

William wrote to me privately to say that he loved the article. He is a very kind and wonderful person.

I don't know about Elizabeth McNeill. On a very fast surf on the net I found only this info: "It was written by Elizabeth McNeill, a publisher and successful business woman, and it is the true story of her own love affair"...

Maybe in the future we will know something more...

Hi, I came here via Jane Davitt. It's late so I'll apologise if I missed a reference, but did you know that Peter O'Donnell of Modesty Blaise fame wrote as Madeline Brent? (Note the initials *g*) And very enjoyably too.
