I really don’t like very much all the public display that most of the BDSM novels imply as ordinary.

I don't like it either (talking about RL now), in fact I've never been to a club or a public dungeon because the idea just doesn't appeal to me at all.

That said, I really enjoyed the first two books of this series. It did get much too romantic and sex-centric for my taste later in the series, but the first book and its sequel are ones I'd definitely recommend.

LOL, I don't know if for me is more a recommendation rather than not ;-) the "too romantic" is good, but the "sex-centric" not so much... I think that I will read them, and decide :-)

LOL! But tastes vary, thank God. I don't think there was more sex than in the first two books, but I tend to skip over sex scenes anyway, or skim them, so it was probably just my personal bias.

I suppose it all depends from the reader; as I told to Alex, for me a "romantic" turn is not a bad thing, but too much sex it's (maybe). I will probably read book 2, not sure when and if I will be able to arrive to 3 and 4, but I suppose I need to have an opinion ;-)

I loved all the 5 books. I admit, all the public play made me cringe sometimes, but thaks god, it was not too frequent:)

It really worked for me when Tobias showed his more "human" side and let Noah take charge from time to time.

And of course I adore Phan - he is co sweet:)

Ahah, so there will be more "public display" ;-) and yes, Phan is a very nice supporting character, I suppose he will have many chances to "appear" in the following books then.

*lips sealed from now on* ;)

Anyway, the whole series appear to be much more "readable" for an average reader than, for example, "Mr Benson" by John Preston, which I still didn't find the courage to read:)

I read the whole series, and although each book had something to recommend it, there was much more emphasis on sex later on, and even some public to semi-public scenes. I'm another one who really doesn't need the sex, especially when it's blatantly public. I'm much more interested in the development and interplay of characters, and that became watered down as the series went on. Some readers hated Phan's trip, but that was one of the more interesting ongoing themes, for me.

I liked Phan, so I wouldn't mind to read more about him in the ongoing books. I will probably read book 2, will see how I like it and decide for the others, but comment after comment I realize that probably 2 will be enough for me ;-)

My memory is horrible, but I think Phan's crisis doesn't even find a solution until past the second book.

By the way, I unfriended you, but I put you in my bookmarks folder for reviewers so I don't miss anything. You're just too damned prolific and my flist goes on forever some days.

I don't mind, I tend to post only once a day, but with the awards and all, for the following few months the numbers of post will probably increase
