Janet Edgar passed away on May 17, 2005, after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer. Her first sale book, the Love Inspired Suspense novel titled THE INN AT SHADOWN LAKE, was published in 2006. It won several writing contest awards prior to publication.

She was enthusiastic and eager to delve into everything that goes into making a story into a book. She redid her art fact sheet a few times, tinkering with it. She’d planned several series for Love Inspired Suspense, and THE INN AT SHADOWN LAKE was the first book in her Marshall Brothers series.

Janet Edgar’s love for writing started in elementary school when she saw her book report published in the school newsletter. The experience of seeing her written words in print made a powerful impact on her life. She was thankful to God that even when she was a child, He was directing her paths.

Janet served as secretary of Faith, Hope and Love, the inspirational chapter of Romance Writers of America. She also served as newsletter editor of a local RWA chapter and was a member of several more RWA chapters throughout the United States. She was also a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers.

Janet was very popular on the Steeplehill.com boards, always happy to chat with others, promote Steeple Hill and share her faith. Even those who never met her face-to-face adored her-her love of life and people showed through in everything she did.

Janet had been married for over 30 years to her high school sweetheart, Richard. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially Richard, their children, Cassie and Scott, and their grandchildren. (From her editor, Diane Dietz)
