I used to pretend not to know how to pronounce the names of dinosaurs, in hopes that I'd seem a less nerdy kid.

And I've always been the person who just can't sound things out. My last job involved having to say "otolaryngology." Ended up taking a photo of a sign and sending it to my lover with a note saying, in effect, "AUGH I CAN'T PRONOUNCE THIS!!!"

He sent back a phonetic breakdown of it, which helped a little, but..still I struggle. Sigh.
