I've realised now that I'm writing a series. Not something I expected but I have this notebook called Ideas and I bung every little inkling of a story that I get in there with notes for a title, characters, places, occupations and how they all fit together

Sounds fabulous.

I have several story ideas set round where I live. Mostly contemporaries, but at least 2 historical. Don't see why they shouldn't link up I guess. As a reader I love it when that sort of thing is done well - like Jo Myles's Bristol Collection (comes to mind easiest as I've just re-read Scrap last night)

Writing a series sounds like a lovely idea - it is always great fun to re-use characters and settings.

And a hairdresser able to reassure his clients that nothing awful would happen definitely sounds good - one never knows, after all.
