For so long I lived in places where I had no room for a tree ... now I do, but I'm afraid the cat would take it apart (which is a shame, since I have all kinds of ornaments - even a Jack).
I don't have nearly as many, but my penchant for foxes has landed me quite a few over the years, as well ...
Cats and trees can be dicey, I've heard many a story of cat-induced tree-trauma. Our Mitzee loved the tree, she would practically live under it and we would have to place the gifts in accordance with 'royal decree'.
The day it went up was like 'Mitzee-mas', she would get all excited and run around like a crazy thing, getting in boxes and bags, until she got tired. Then her highness would require her royal trees skirt to be placed so she could supervise the decoration from a place of honour. And then on the day it came down there would be much sulking and no small amount of complaining.
I don't actually have any PotC ornies yet, but I'm always on the lookout.
The cow thing is just crazy, but kinda fun. It's always fascinating to see the things people can find. And cows, unlike some other collectibles, like say, foxes, seem to be so much easier to find.
You can find at least one ornament of Jack and Will at Wal-Mart (maybe), and Hallmark has a Jack ornament this year. There's also a Will figure ornament for sale on eBay in limited numbers ...
Yay for your floofy tree decorations of campness! I LOVE your Kokopelli decoration! I have a drum with him painted on - he's so much fun. Oh, and the cows? Hilarious! I like the Ermintrude one with her too-large shoes! And the pegasus cow is brilliant!
Christmas is Kitschy. What is lovely and elegant one year is the ultimate in camp the next. One of the reasons I love the whole thing so much. ;)
I love Kokopelli, I have a tiny little stuffed one and candle holders with his 'horn' playing ass. He's mucho fun.
And I have to agree that my cows are Fab-u-lous! Hee! My mom couldn't stop giggling when she gave me the 'Ermintrude' one, and the pegasus cow actually has 'Holy Cow' written on it, which lead to more crazy giggling, when they were given to me (I have 2).
