Take this as compliment - I feel sick and teary-eyed right now, but I can honestly say that that was one of the best pieces of fanfiction that I have ever read.

You're amazingly talented at getting inside the characters' heads and making them come to life. I'm really quite envious of that.

The reverse-timeline was a really interesting concept. I've seen it done before, but never quite as neatly or harrowingly (if that's even a word) as you've done it here. I loved all the little details, like the picture frames, and the whiskey/champagne and the birthday cards.

Okay, I'll shut up now, but it was amazing, and I really hope you're proud of it.

I've finished this story over 6 months ago now, so getting any kind of comment on it nowadays is always a wonderful surprise :') I'm very happy you enjoyed it, heartaches and all! I am most definitely proud of it, I have written dozens of fanfics in the past 10 years, but this one is like my favorite baby; any kind of feedback on it just makes my day ♥

If you're interested, I've actually been writing a companion fic to this story, set in the same future!verse, except that I changed a few things (aka they get another chance at being parents). I haven't posted it on my LJ because who am I kidding, battling with all the HTML takes a lot of time xD But if you ever feel like it, it's posted on ff.net :)

I know I'm a little late to discovering this story but I absolutely adored it and every part! Everything felt real and every character was so in character so I got really into this and even shed some tears. :')
