My little brother has been selected to play rugby in the England Uni (he's currently a student at Worcester University) squad's forthcoming game against Pontypridd

Oh dear, that was drunk and exuberant wasn't it. I think I meant to say "Yahoo your brother, woo hoo rugby star, beware!" Or "beer!". Nobody knows. Woo hoo hangover!

I think 'Lovers' is the favourite. Better than the handle 'Team Gay' that he was given in his first term at uni. Apparently its a name handed down to an unfortunate first year every season. . .
Rugby players are so. . . enlightened don't you think?!
You must be so proud!allthatcustardJanuary 28 2005, 06:56:00 UTC
Pontypridd is only a few mins away from here. I take it he'll be playing at the Sardis Road ground, AKA The House of Pain? Welsh club rugby is not what it used to be, thanks to the bloody WRU, not that I'm bitter at all, but all the same I'm sure the Ponty boys will give him a good game.
BTW, Gazimoff's sister plays rugby for England Laydeez. She also is from Basingstoke... Is a pattern emerging?

You are correct, tomorrow night in fact myself and bloke will be making the epic journey down to Sardis Road to watch my hulk of a brother (front row forward) rumble his way around the pitch

How did you get on?allthatcustardFebruary 7 2005, 08:16:28 UTC
Sorry, but I've only just caught up with lj. Hope you had a nice time in Pontypridd and managed to find a place to stay. Last Saturday must have been a blindin' night out in Cardiff. I wouldn't have thought everywhere would be booked solid, because most England Rugby types treat the Wales fixture as a day trip. It's the Scots and Irish who descend en masse and fill all the pubs and hotels, generally. We get lots of them as far out as Caerphilly, because we're only a quick hop from Cardiff by train. How did your bro get on? No fractures I hope

Gruesome? Thats our kids mug shot you're talking about! Specifically third row down, ninth from the left. Da Lovegrove, or 'Lovers' as he's more commonly known (and, due to my big mouth, my latest nickname amongst my friends). My bro is the webmaster for the Worcester uni website, which is probably why there are no excruciatingly embarrassing drunken naked photos of him on it. Thank god
