100-day plan update

Jan 10, 2008 11:54

Interim post; later, I want to update this with links to all the history involved. (And I wanted one of those spiffy online countdown graphics, like people use for pregnancies, but preferably without the baby at the end, but I couldn't find one.)

It's been almost 40 days since SUP announced its 100-Day Plan to improve LJ. They said that, by March ( Read more... )

You'd better make sure autopay isn't turned on for your account. Even if you didn't sign up for autopay, a bunch of users had issues last summer where all of a sudden their autopay was magically turned on (Six Apart blamed the users, of course).

this probably isn't relevant, but why is it that when i try to add tags to entries, none of my previously used tags come up when pressing certain letters on the keyboard?

as for this "100-day policy," i think it's just another way to get us to shut up for another while. Lj is oh-so-good at doing that.

I do believe that has to do with the atocomplete in your brower's cache, more than LJ. That stuff expires off ever so often.

No, it's LJ. I have autocomplete turned off in the browser and LJ does this for me anyway (I find it handy).

Is it possible you have some kind of script blocking? I'm not sure how this feature is coded. I use a script blocker (LJ is allowed) and have browser autocomplete turned off, but it still works for me.

Did you really expect them to follow through with that promise?

Remember back when they said "We'll keep you updated on the TOS/Policy changes!" and we never heard anything ever again? It's kind of like that, only with fifty new communities instead of just the two.

"How do you think they're doing so far?"

crappily. you'd figure that by now they would have at least improved upon the aesthetics like "easier navigation" on homepage and what not,but they haven't even gotten that far... its one thing if they dont want to talk rationally to the users about TOS, its another if they completely slack on EVERYTHING. it doesnt seem like they have any intention of doing anything they've claimed. it seems to me that those communities were only created to kind of calm everyone down after the sell out, especially because everyone was already pissed off. if you notice, the talk has died down because nothing big and drastic has taken place, so why should they feel the need to make any changes?

EDIT:Actually I did notice a change to the community settings page. it is a little different but the options are the same. havent seen any changes to the pages they were referring to though, YET.
