Dinner for two

The gourmet grocery store where I used to work has a catering program, "Dinner for you." For a fee which now seems reasonable but only recently would have been completely inaccessible, I can pick up two sets of five delicious dinners for my re-heating convenience for the week going forward ( Read more... )

Look I'm on LJ! In other news, the catering programs at places like ASS, Foster's, and now Rick's, are indeed lifesavers but do make it a bit sad when we don't have the energy to do creative cooking. So count this as a vote of empathy because I, too, love love love to cook but find myself without the energy for it most days. (In spite of my new, not-as-physically-demanding job.) (And, okay, haven't REALLY had the energy for it since graduating from library school.)

Yay! I don't know what Ricks is. Is it yummy? I'll likely still keep doing ASS because I also get the self-esteem jolt of interacting with people who remember me as a competent bad-ass. (I have to remind myself that just because I was a competent bad-ass at retail --today, I was introduced to someone as 'basically, a white, female Quincy.' I don't even know what that means, but damn if it didn't impress the person I met. -- didn't mean I was happy doing it.)

Rick's is a diner in Durham. I find it very yummy. ASS makes the most sense for you wrt commute and whatnot.

{hugs} Yay for yummy food at least? I have great sympathy for the tiredness and I am very sad that you're not getting a chance to do something you enjoy, but I've never been a good enough cook to enjoy the alchemy of creation. (unlike some people I know who made paneer, was it? I just remember you mentioning cheese cloth and realizing you could make /ingredients/. Not food, but the step before food. I'm still somewhat in awe.)
Anyway, {hugs} and hope for more energy/time/health/etc. Also, look, LJ. :)

Yay LJ! Mmm... Paneer. I am going to do nothing but cook over Christmas break. I am going to make a shmorgastarta. And something that approximates 'pepper imps' for Kiba's party.

If you are serious, we should make a shmorgastarta date for over my christmas break. I expect the undertaking to be epic, and it would be great to have someone along for the ride.
