Valid points all. I have one little question:

And that's the crux of the matter. Do all "homophobic" people who voice their dissention over gay marriage rights because of faith or personal choice hate those who have a different concept of gender? Do all "homophobes" resort to violence? No. Yet they are labelled homophobic and have been told they must hate gay people if they oppose progress in the gay community.

When you say gender are you meaning sex - or are you actually referring to the idea of gender. I'm curious since the two are not interchangeable, in fact they're almost not related due to their huge difference in meaning. Mainly I'm curious because the issue here is allowing gay marriage (marriage between two people of the same sex in other words). But there exists a huge level of domination here in the US based on gender, coupled with class, culture, race, etc. etc. etc. etc.

[coughs] I'm probably the only one who cares, but I do have the degree to back myself up, so I can't help but be curious.

I was talking exclusively about the idea of gender. Many people are unaware of the differences between gender and sex. Our views of sex (whether correctly or incorrectly) are based on gender views.

Mmhmm. I think that's the whole point, the incorrect views of gender...but anyhoo, on a totally different note - I love that icon!

25 calories in tomatoes?! Why did I think it was 5?
Elves are cool only in The Silmarillion. Once killed by PJ's LotR and played by Orlando Bloom...they become feeeeh. *rolls eyes at LotR Elves*

Yeah, it's 5 for a small one weighing +-100g. The only thing I know that's got 5 cals is coffee, tea and 2 sticks of sugar-free gum.

That was really something and I think I'd have to agree with you. You're right. I mean if you oppose gay marriage, it does not automatically mean you have something against gay people. I think everyone is entitled to have an opinion on such a topic. If those who oppose it it, have a valid argument and points than I think they have just as much of a right as everyone else, to argue the topic. Freedom of speech is naturally being taken away by labelling people as "homophobics" just because they oppose gay marriage. I agree with you.

Anyways love the legolas banner:D You're soo talented <33
