Costco makes its moves...

It looks as if the local Costco, our huge-box, members-only, warehouse supply store is making a big play to finally crush Cash & Carry, the other major restaurant supply chain in my neighborhood. There's an eligibility requirement for Costco? The local one lets anyone in who can pay the $50 annual fee.

Anyone who can pay the membership fee gets in down here. Heck, they even have "guest day passes".

Costco has had a specifically business warehouse down here for quite some time. The merchandise is tailored a little more toward the restaurant end with the massive numbers of flavored syrups, the restaurant supplies like warming burners and dishware, and larger sized bags of ingredients. No clothes are sold here, nor are many of the home kitchen appliances.
