I write like...

There's a meme going around to analyze your writing in the belief that somehow you write "like" someone else. I'm suspecting some trivial keyword magic: the word "robot" automagically gets you Asimov, for example.

Many and varied. )

Bayesian whoosiwhatsit is easy to write or borrow these days and, given anything but the hugest training set, will probably converge to a simplistic keyword filter.

It told me my English paper on Bartleby was like Lovecraft, my book review of Dear Friend was like Dickens, and two blog posts were Douglas Adams and Stephen King.

Then I put in a Lovecraft excerpt and got Douglas Adams while a Douglas Adams excerpt got Leo Tolstoy.

Although a Stephen King excerpt got Stephen King!

That was fun. :D

I got Dan Brown a lot, too. I choose to ignore this.

I didn't run any of my smut writing through it, though.

IMHO, you're more like the offspring of Tanya Huff, Neil Asher, Charles Stross, and John Scalzi.
