Mini Update

So Sprout is now 10 lbs, 11 ounces and is 22.5 inches long. She is apparently a big baby, though she really isn't all that chubby. But we saw a four month old smaller than my Sprout. It must be the dwarf in her. We can thank her father for that one ( Read more... )

She is getting older, so might just naturally be starting to sleep longer. I gotta say, though, it is freaky when they sleep extra long. You start wanting to go check them to be sure they are still breathing...

Big but not chubby - do they tell you her percentiles? If they match, then she's proportional - hence big but not chubby! :D Both my kids have always been proportional - AG33 small, The Barbarian huge.

Oh yes, we check on her breathing often. I get very nervous when she sleeps more than a couple of hours, and I am paranoid enough as it is!
I will have to look into her percentages the next time she is seen. The pediatrician said that everything was looking good though. She is certainly getting enough to eat from me, but it is hard to over eat on breast milk so we are not going to worry about her weight.

Oh, I totally agree! I breast fed my kids for a year each, so I'm on board with that and with the associated things related to weight. I was more just curious becuase of your comment. :D

BTW, regarding sleepign in the crib - AG33 slept in with us most nights until 3 months or so, whereupon his pediatrician assured me that even on breast milk he shoudl be able to sleep through the night. So we put him down, and then I retreated to the farthest room in the apartment and Husband kept gentle watch on MY door. He eventually fell asleep and then slept in the crib. It took several nights for it to become easier, but at least for us, it was mostly a matter of maternal will power to not run to the rescue.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

Curiosity is never a bad thing in my book. It has yet to kill me, and I enjoy the taste of metal and electricity. XD I will definitely share the percentages when we find out.
Ah yes, I remember reading that post. I am still going to try to transition Sprout to her crib slowly, but I think at four or five I will take a page from your book. If she continues to sleep like a log for more than four hours at a time in her swing during the night, then it would definitely be time to get her used to her crib.
