Cheeky Baby

Sprout is almost two weeks old and oh she is a handful. A beautiful handful though.
She is growing longer each day and is one hungry baby. Tall like an Elf but with a Hobbit's appetite. My boobs are so sore! But I am just happy that she is taking to my milk. It is cute. She will drink until she falls asleep. I understand that it is a comfort thing

When my son was born, mom had warned me how to change a boy baby, as they are even more inclined to pee on you AND their pee is more dangerous! Well, he was with me in the hospital room and clearly needed a change, so I decided to do it. I did not follow Mom's advice to have the protective diaper in place and voila my cute hardly-one-day-old turned into a pee fountain! I was laughing my ass off. :D

Do you nurse lying down? That might facilitate taking the baby into the bed with both of you.

FYI, my pediatrician assured me that at 6 months even a nursing baby shoudl be able to make it through the night. With my son, we just drew the line at 6 months, though Husband had to put me in the farthest room in the house and stand guard on the door to keep me from going in there while he cried. On the other hand, The Barbarian and I slept together for the better part of a year, and she STILL sneaks in bed with us sometimes.

Sprout doesn't seem a fan for the laying down nursing position. She kicks and wiggles too much and pops off, which frustrates her to no end!
We are getting her to sleep almost four hours at a time, though usually she eats every hour about three times before she clonks out like that.
