yup. NBC "Concert for Hurricane Relief". I like Nagin, he seems to have his head screwed on right, and he's not afraid to get down to business. I don't think I mind the Gov of LA either at the moment - partially because saying "I'm not going to play the blame game" implies that she could, and "We've got a problem. Let's fix it" is exactly what we should be hearing. Although we should have been hearing it a week ago... So yeah. Donate because of Nagin, not Claire Danes ( ... )

by the way, the football player was actually the rapper kanye west, from the south side. but i'm kinda down on him anyway, because he has a song about how diamond cutting in sierra leone is awful but he doesn't care because he loves the bling

Yes. Realized that belatedly and thought about posting again with apologies. >.<;;; just goes to show, I don't listen to rap. Ever.

Kinda expected that someone who was so stuttery and awkward in front of the camera wouldn't have been someone used to talking in front of them, hence the "couldn't be musician or actor" reaction, hence the "football player". But yes.

Probably the best part of the day's news coverage on CNN was when Rev. Al Sharpton said he agreed with West. And the degree to which he had been put down. Him and Carol Moseley Braun, who said some very similar things on another news show and was dismissed to the point that she just hung up on the anchor.

Hey Elizabeth,

(D'you go by "Elizabeth"? Seems like a mouthful =p)

Anywho, 'tis Sheila's summer NIH blair-friend (the one who wasn't sure about UChicago -- you guys were filling me in on.. Chicago scavenger hunts and dorkiness and such). Just thought I'd drop a line =) How's it going?
