yeah, i was only really interested in the silks...the other stuff ie acrobatics we've seen kids do better in china (okay, recruiting small children to train in performance arts is a wee bit unethical, but...).

Enh. Recruiting small children to train in performance arts is a wee bit amusing, and really not all that bad. Heck, it happened to me and I didn't turn out too insane. Eventually they grow up and think back on the days when they were doing fun acrobatic tricks and a blast. Hopefully.

well, actually, the way chinese athletics mostly works is that they recruit you when you're young based on your potential and that's basically what you do until you outlive your usefulness. not much choice in that.
