help getting rid of ads

On my new computer I keep getting advertisements on my livejournal when I move around it. Any ideas on how to get rid of them? It's driving me crazy and part of me is wishing I didn't buy this thing (except it has GB and my old computer only has MB).

You could try downloading firefox and then adblock as an attachment.

You have a plus account so you will get adverts; however, when I had a plus account I used the above to get rid of the adverts.I am not sure but I think the basic account has no adverts.

Thanks for the advice. I still get those ads, but if I log onto firefox instead of yahoo then it doesn't show up when I go into the LJ. It stills doesn't make sense since my other computer didn't do this. One day I might find the answer, but for now I'm happy to be ad free on my LJ.

Adblock will only work in firefox because it is an extension. I don't know if you can get it for yahoo as well, you probably can. If you didn't get ads on your old computer when in yahoo you probably had some sort of ad blocker in place. Maybe yahoo have their own one on the toolbar?
