I heard an interview earlier, with Jonathan Pryce being interviewed by Richard Bacon, and somehow the subject of Sci-fi and Fantasy came up. At which point Jonathan Pryce said he didn't like Sci-fi because he found the aliens creepy. OK, fair enough, but then he said this: "'Brazil' wasn't Sci-fi, it was Political."

I... what..?

Oh so much agreement. Especially when they're in a sci-fi. There's nothing more irritating than an actor telling his/her audience that they're childish/uncultured/thick.

She said when writing the first book she wasn't aware that she was writing fantasy, and the interviewer was worse, had a horribly niave and negative view towards fantasy.

It gets worse though, Sir Pratchett wrote a letter in reply to it in a Sunday paper, it got blown out of proportion into "EVIL PRATCHETT ATTACKS PERFECT ROWLING, TEH EVIL!!"
