Ok, so it's not a pub, but I've been a regular at my walking-distance coffee shop for almost exactly 10 years, now.  It was huge, had windows on three sides so it was open and airy and bright and cheerful and a great place to gather.  I found it when my daughter was just a week old, and I've been stimulating the economy there ever since.

None. And no one's been back in the last few days to move the stuff out. I give it a week to get the moving van arranged: otherwise the franchise owner's skipped out on the lease.

That sucks! I unfortunately only managed to go to this great little coffeeshop nearby here twice for the best mochas ever before they closed suddenly too. Not quite ten years, of course, but I miss those mochas!

Wow.... it's always really sad for me when really nice little places close down. Here where I live if you're unique enough you can hold on, but if you're in the wrong place and not unique - forget it. It's really sad. Homegrown businesses should get way more support than they do.

I hate to hear that. I've mourned the loss of many a small business due to landlord greed and starbucks-style gentrification.
