In Which Elfie Is Pleased, Despite The Cold From Hell

It figures. I finally have a break (of sorts), and I get sick. Sore throat, runny nose, achy muscles (especially in the neck), the works. Thank God it doesn't appear to be strep. I don't think I could handle that right now.

alysaundre and I still haven't been able to really celebrate our anniversary, but I am a very, very lucky woman. I love and adore ( Read more... )

Hey, It's the least I could do after I got the embroidery machine as my anniversary present... =) And at least we get to play with each other's toys.

Ya know, I'm just not going to touch that straight line...I'm just going to let it lie there all on it's own...

And I'm still sick--the throat version is a strep variant, and if Amy's neck is sore, she might need to go get some antibiotics. I'm on massive doses, and so is Katie. Nasty stuff, this one. I expect I'll be human around friday or so. Then we can get going on tentage stuff!! Or at least get started. Coming to the Arts day on Saturday?

We're definitely planning on being there Saturday and bringing projects... As I won't have the canvas until probably next week we probably can't get moving on the walls and Pied Piper, but we can at least start modifying the existing pavilions for the walls. So far, I've ordered the canvas, grommets, webbing (3/4" white Polypropylene), thread (1 lb. of #92 polyester in white), and have bought the rope for hanging the walls on the existing roofs as well as on the Pied Piper when we have it done. If you're feeling better on Friday and want to get together and sort out the last of the hardware and such (i.e. the hooks and valance fabric, etc.) I'd be up for it. Just give me a call.

That's a lovely present! And Fortuna sounds like a splendid name for a spinning wheel. ;)

I think the name has stuck. I like the literary and mythological references.

Fortuna is lonely. Maybe I'll get some spinning done today. I was reading an article in which a lady talks about how she spun all of the yarn for a sweater for her daughter in two evenings after work. Of course, it's taking her months to actually knit the sweater, but still...if I want to spin yarn for socks, that shouldn't be horrifically difficult, should it?

There's a story here somewhere. *hunts*

Ooooh, fiber toy envy. Bring it up here and I'll show you how to spin flax on it, little girl. First one's free :-)

*blinks innocently* What? What? It's a lovely, dramatic, and possibly overly romantic name for a spinning wheel!
