Is Mary Queen of Scots and the Murder of Lord Darnley interesting? That period of history fascinates me, but the droll tone of a textbook seems to take the life out of the stories.

Mary Queen of Scots and the Murder of Lord Darnley is indeed interesting. It presents the evidence of the contemporary records to show who was really involved in the murder, what was actually propaganda, and so on. The book is by Alison Weir. She also wrote a great book on the life of Elizabeth I, and I still have to read her book The Princes in the Tower.
I also just finished that great double biography of Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I. I'll look up the author and post the exact title, if you like. I've seen another double biography that I want to get my hands on that talks about Elizabeth I and the famous Irish pirate Grace O'Malley. Me, obsessed with Good Queen Bess? Whatever gave you that idea? ^_~
