Isn't it though? XD

Seriously, put me working in an aquarium with the sharks and/or cetaceans, and I'm happy... but throw in interaction like this, and that's just icing added to the cake in a cup.

I got to pet and play with the nurse sharks when I worked at the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, but this is just a whole extra level of awesome.

Somehow I knew I might get that reaction from you... XD

But you've gotta admit... this story does put some more credit behind my referring to sharks as puppies. XD

I know, I took it as a wow smilie. ^_^ I figured if it was a scared smilie, it would have had a different letter for the mouth. XD

I'll protect you from them with my super marine biologist and SCUBA diver powers. XD

Buh? I know that picture, but as far as I know that story has nothing to do with it. Snopes says that the shark just followed the guy around a bit, watching the kayak and getting bored after a while.

Snopes could be wrong on this one, but that's where I heard the story first...

Aha! Snopes also has info on the story you linked to and shows that it's false. Apparently some folks took the pictures out of context and added that story to it.

Snopes is a helpful site. %D Usually when I get an email linking to a bizarre story or something to that effect I look it up on Snopes.

...Am I supposed to apologize or say "you're welcome"? XD;

I don't doubt that sharks can be affectionate, though. I've heard of fish that were affectionate to their owners so I don't see why sharks can't be that way.

Anyway, Snopes is an awesome site, especially if you're trying to figure out if a weird news story or email or whatnot is real. ...It's also very addictive, though, about to the extent TV Tropes and Wiki can be at times.
