AN: Okay here's what I could come up with for you all to read...I'll try to post more when I get back from Florida next week(I have been told I will be too busy to write..*grin*)...it's short compared to what I usually write for a chapter but it's all I have for now..eh..*shrugs*
Entering the elevator the doctor and her now much younger partner glanced at one another, just as the doors where about to close an arm stuck through the door and when it opened enough Vala slipped into the elevator car to stand nervously fidgeting before them with her head bowed.
Janet hit the stop button on the elevator and watched as her antsy lover switched from foot to foot, with a heavy sigh she spoke, “Let me take a wild guess…you had something to do with this?” she asked.
Before Vala could answer Sam spoke up from the corner where she leaned, “It wasn’t her fault Janet, she didn’t mean to cause this.”
The dark-haired woman gave her a grateful look and then looked to Janet, “She’s right…I just leaned against a console and suddenly she was trapped in a beam of light; I’ll try to find a way to fix her Janet.”
“Oh you will definitely help,” the doctor remarked, “because I have the feeling this is not something I can reverse easily.”
“Hello…I’m standing right here,” Sam interjected with a little wave at the women, with the wrong hand cause she had to grab her pants before they slipped down; “dammit,” she muttered, holding them up again.
Janet tried not to laugh, it definitely wasn’t the time for it but she couldn’t help the grin that formed on her face. She thought to herself, ‘I really don’t know what I’m going to do to fix this but she is so damn cute right now.’
Sam spoke up again, “Listen…Vala you tell her what happened and I’ll meet the two of you in the infirmary…I want to find some clothes that fit a little better. I forgot how much difference there was between me at seventeen and forty,“ she grumbled.
“Seventeen huh?” Janet asked.
“Yep…has to be…I had a growth spurt during my last year of high school just before I turned eighteen,” Sam told her partner with a crooked grin as she blew the hair out of her eyes with a breath.
Janet smiled, Sam now stood four or five inches shorter than her older self; she was still taller than the doctor but not by much, although now Vala towered over them both, “I guess if you really want to change it’s okay…you feel alright though don’t you?” she asked the blonde.
“Yeah…I feel fine,” Sam replied moving to re-start the elevator and pushing a different level button.
“All right then…come straight to the infirmary when you’re changed though,” Janet told her.
The car stopped and with a smile to her partner Sam walked out, holding her pants and shuffling her feet, “Be there in about twenty minutes,” she said as the doors closed.
“You have a smile on your face; does this mean you aren’t mad at me?” Vala commented to the doctor, a hopeful look on her face as the car began moving again.
Janet turned to look at her, “No, I’m not mad…this is just something I’ve become used to working here…SG-1 is always getting into some kind of trouble,” she told the woman; “The smile is because I can’t help but think how cute she was at that age,” she added.
Vala let out the breath she’d been holding, “Good, because I really didn’t mean for this to happen,” and then with a tilt of her head and a crooked grin she added, “you have point there, she is awfully cute with that shaggy mop of hair and all gangly looking.”
The two looked at each other and burst into giggles, letting the fit subside Janet wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, “Okay…all laughter aside now, you have to tell me what happened and we have to figure out what to do about this,” she told Vala.
Still chuckling Vala nodded her head, “Whatever I can do to help I will Jan,” she replied and the doors opened, exiting the two women made their way to the infirmary to wait on Sam.

Sam walked down the corridor, as she passed other personnel she would give them a little smile as they gave her odd looks. It wasn’t everyday you saw a teenager strolling down the halls of the SGC dressed in a field uniform two sizes too large. Luckily no one tried to stop her as she entered the women’s locker room, she closed the door behind her and made her way to her locker.
She sorted through her spare clothing, coming up with a pair of grey sweats, “Gonna be a little baggy but I’ll deal with it,” she mumbled.
She used her feet to slip her boots off, not having to untie them then let her pants fall to the floor, removing her jacket she tossed the clothing into the bottom of her locker and walked towards the showers still in her t-shirt and underwear. She paused before the mirrored alcove, finally getting a good look at her younger self, “Geez, I’m a beanpole,” she muttered, “I forgot how all knees and elbows I was at this age.”
She pulled up her shirt, “Well the body is different but the scars are still the same, “ she remarked, eyeing the faint line on her chest and turning to see the one on her side. Bouncing on the balls of her feet and flexing her knees she grinned at herself, “Oooo, aches and pains all gone,” she said in a happy tone, the knee she’d injured six months ago had been giving her fits lately.
Standing before the mirror she then frowned, “This is so going to change things at home, “ she said to herself with a sigh, “I just hope we can figure out how to fix it soon but until then I’m going to take advantage of it,” she remarked a little smugly and running hand through her shaggy hair turned to get cleaned up.
*******************************
Sam walked into the infirmary, her flip flops making a slapping noise as her footfalls landed, she had been walking with her head bowed in concentration trying to think of a solution and paused just inside the doorway then raised her head to see all of her teammates along with the doctor and the General gathered in the infirmary waiting on her.
“Are we having a party or something?” she asked with a grin, “Is there cake?”
The comment earned her several groans from her teammates and an exasperated look from Janet then General Landry spoke, “Well it’s nice to see this situation hasn’t dampened your spirits Colonel Carter.”
Strolling past the group Sam hopped onto an empty bed, “After everything I’ve been through over the years Sir, this is just a drop in the bucket,” she replied with a big smile making the dimples in her cheeks stand out.
The General gave her an odd look and shook his head, “If you say so Colonel…I have my weekly IOD meeting to go to but I expect a full report on my desk after the good doctor finishes with you. I just wanted to make sure you were doing fine,” he said.
“Yup…just hunky dory Sir,” she told him.
“Sir…permission to return to the planet and search for more information,” Mitchell asked the General.
“Yes…or even another one of those machines,“ Vala chimed in.
“By all means…see what you can find, “ Landry told the team and then with a smile to the group turned, walking out of the infirmary.
Janet looked over at her partner who still had a grin on her face, “Alright, if you would excuse us I have a battery of tests to run on the Colonel here,” she told the team.
One by one the men wished her goodbye and assured her they would do all they could to help her and then they left the infirmary, leaving Vala standing next to Janet, “If I have to tear that whole complex apart with my bare hands Sam, I’ll find a way to fix this,” she told her now young blonde lover.
Sam hopped off the bed and walking up to the dark-haired woman wrapped her in a hug, resting her chin on Vala’s shoulder she replied, “I know you will…just don’t touch anything else until one of the guys goes over it first. I really don’t think we need a teenage Cameron running around here too,” she added, pulling back and grinning at her lover.
“Oh dear, that would be trouble,” Vala replied back, returning the grin then with a nod of her head to the doctor turned to leave and catch up with the men.
Janet stood next to Sam, “Okay let’s get started with those tests,” she said glancing up ever so slightly at her partner.
“In just a minute, follow me,” Sam told her and grabbed Janet’s hand, tugging her towards the office.
When they reached the room Sam closed the door behind them and then taking both of Janet’s hands into her own gazed into the doctor’s eyes, “Are you okay?” she asked in a worried tone.
Janet looked up into the bright blue eyes for a few seconds, “I’m fine,” she replied.
Sam tilted her head, “No…the truth,” she said.
With a heavy sigh Janet replied, “Okay…I’m rattled but how can you expect me not to be? You’re a teenager for heaven’s sake Sam, it’s just going to take me a little getting used too.”
Bringing their clasped hands up to lay over her heart Sam spoke, “It’s still me Jan, the only thing that’s changed is my body, everything else is still the same; from my vast knowledge of all things geeky…” this statement made Janet smile, “too the way I feel about you…no change.”
Janet smiled at her partner and pulled Sam to her, in her heels they now stood almost equal in height, she leaned in then gave Sam a soft kiss but as she began to back away Sam cupped the back of her head and drew her back to lengthen the kiss. After a few minutes they broke apart, “Umm…you keep kissing me like that and I won’t care what you look like,” Janet said a little out of breath.
Sam grinned at her, “Is that a promise?” she asked.
Janet gave her a grin and with a shake of her head she pushed on Sam, shoving her towards the door, “Scoot, Stretch…we have tests to run,” she said.
With a wild laugh Sam jogged ahead of her back out into the infirmary; Janet watched her jump back up on one of the beds and said softly, “I will solve this little problem, Samantha…yes, I will.”
