THE KARATE KID REMAKE MAKES ME SO MAD LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE - and yet my friends are totally okay with it, because, in their words, the original wasn't "good." I mean, yeah, it wasn't OMG A MASTERPIECE, but - yeah. It's a classic. They don't need to touch that shit.

Also. Poltergeist? Really? I'm done.

I remember being the theater seeing the preview for the new Karate Kid and being like "...wait. This is China. Why are they in--THIS IS KUNG FU. WHAT IS THIS." I think you were there.

I would actually find the idea of another movie somewhat acceptable if the title were "Kung Fu Kid." It would be giving a nod to the original films, but establishing itself as its own entity.

As for Poltergeist--American ghost/horror movies died long, long ago. They're grasping at anything now, weeping money as Asia claims rightful ownership of the horror genre.

Yeah, I remember seeing the trailer in the theater with you. We were both like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_S5cXbXe-4

I think I would actually be OK with "The Kung Fu Kid," too. It would be more like a spin-off and less FAIL.

And, yeah, I know. I just... I would like some decent home-grown horror movies, ya know? I mean, I love my Asian horror, but we used to be so good. *Weeps*
