A Case of Need was his first book (I think). It's one of my favorites. If you get a chance, check that one out. It's dated, but, it still touches on a few current issues.

Most of his books I've sat down and read cover to cover. He's one of the few authors I've ever done that with. It's really sad that he died and his body of work won't expand any further. :(

yeah. i would nearly always find myself reading one of his books from cover to cover without stopping. even the cheesy ones captured me enough to want to stay with the characters and the story to the end. i like his writing style. besides, you know the bad guys are going to be in deep trouble at the end.

i will see if i can find a copy of "a case of need" as i hit up some used bookstores over the next couple of weeks.

i liked that he could take complex scientific or cultural/societal issues and break them down to understandable concepts. i have learned about DNA and genetic cloning, quantam physics, and global economics because of him.

I actually screamed when this came on the news this evening. My client's mom ran into the room wanting to know what was wrong and I just continued to stare at the TV.

I think the ONLY book I haven't read of his was Eaters of the Dead, but I absolutely loved the movie adaption. (13th Warrior).

I think I'm going to go watch that now.
