Helen's Room: 501: Wednesday evening [8-27-08]

Aug 27, 2008 19:02

Helen was sprawled out on her bed, door propped wide open, avidly reading one of the trashy romances Seregil had helped her find.

They were definitely different from anything the priests had ever given her to read and she was finding them quite fascinating. Even if the writing often left a bit to be desired.

[Both door and post are open!]

A wide-open door across from his own would have been hard for Romeo to ignore, even if he hadn't gotten in the habit of looking that way to see if Dojima was about.

It was the girl from Free Will class, the one who'd spoken of banishment. He'd remember her name in a second, but for now, she got a neighborly, "What are you reading?" from just outside the doorframe.

Helen looked up, a little startled to be interrupted. "Oh, hello," she said. "It's a book Seregill helped me find. He called it a 'trashy romance'. It's rather interesting."

"Are there maidens with heaving bosoms?" Romeo asked, voice not quite a snort. "And I'm sorry to interrupt. I'm across the hall" - he gestured at 502 - "and you looked very wrapped up in that."

So, of course, he had to bother her. It made sense to him.

She laughed. "Yes, I'm afraid there are. The priests would definitely not approve!"

She shrugged. "Door's open, so you're welcome to come in. I just was a little... engrossed, I suppose."
