We haven't seen Helen for the past three weeks either, so her thing with the clones and the future disaster have gone quiet. If they try to bring everything together in the finale, it will be too confusing.
OK, I may be being stupid, but where does 'the dog barks and everybody laughs' comes from? or is it Scooby Doo? And which two scenes were they?
I've heard the phrase before, and yes, I do know of the type of scenes you describe. I suppose a lot of TV makers feel it is a good way to end an episode; tie up the story and leave everyone on a high note.
But why would they record bird noise when they were studying atmospheric things, or something?
I like nit-picking sometimes. Don't take it too seriously, or it will spoil your enjoyment of the show. I do it all the time on Robin Hood, it's just Primeval that I write it down.
