I am just saddened by the amount of anti that has come from some people (mainly in the media). I wonder if they have actually sat down and thought about what it means as a whole.

There have been loads of discussions on a Guider's message board over the summer, and together we seem to have got the meanings sorted. Now I just have to explain it to the girls.

To me, it means that someone like my sister would not feel unable to volunteer as a guider because she does not believe in God.

She's a woman of strong moral principles, thus felt unable to swear the old promise.
